Drupal Hosting Review: AN Hosting

You're probably here because you're looking for a good Drupal host. Maybe you've already read some reviews, or looked at a few "top 10" lists. You probably noticed most of them weren't written by someone actually using Drupal.

Sadly, most of the Drupal hosting reviews out there are fakes written by hosting company employees, either to brag about themselves, or to trash their competitors.

It's hard to know who to trust. My best advice is to do your research, and know who you're dealing with. With that in mind, allow me to introduce myself:

Is your Drupal host any good?

It's 2009, and the world economy is not looking all that great. Many companies are laying off staff or cutting back on service, and the tech sector is far from immune.

Drupal hosts

That's why I thought it would be a good idea to launch, a simple site with a single goal: intelligent discussion of Drupal hosting in 2009. I wanted to create a place for Drupal users to share their experiences, good or bad, with the community.

AN Hosting Halloween Sale

I just got an email from my hosting provider, AN Hosting, telling me they've got a special deal on for Halloween. If you've been looking for a new web host for your Drupal site, now's a great time to switch! Here's what they're offering:

AN Hosting

In other words, you save $1/month off the normal price, plus you get unlimited bandwidth and storage! You'll have to be quick, though: the deal expires at midnight, central time on November 2nd!

PS: If you haven't read my review of AN Hosting yet, I'll give you the quick version: they're a really great choice for Drupal users!

Update: There's a slightly different sale on for the election: 3 months free, still unlimited bandwidth and storage. Ends November 5th.

Drupal 6 Speed Test

Wondering just how fast Drupal 6 is? So was I, so I set up a quick Drupal 6 demo site on another domain of mine, and generated a bunch of random content using the Devel module. The site has a mix of 1000 pages and stories, most of which have 5 comments and 5 taxonomy terms assigned to them. Full caching and compression is enabled. Clean URLs are working and I'm using the default .htaccess file.

Drupal 6 Released!

Give it a test run, I think you'll be impressed with the speed. The demo is hosted on the same AN Hosting account as this site, so if you like what you see, I recommend checking them out.
